Vanquish Restless Legs Syndrome
I once had Restless Legs Syndrome, luckily one of the most overlooked medical conditions of our time. “Luckily” overlooked, because it’s not fatal, and I’d much rather that be an overlooked medical condition than Lupus. Still, Restless Legs Syndrome is horrible, and if you catch it, you’ll want to get rid of it.
According to the The Restless Legs Syndrome Foundation, “Restless Legs Syndrome is an overwhelming desire to move the legs, usually caused by uncomfortable or unpleasant sensations in the legs. These sensations can occur during periods of inactivity and become more severe in the evening and the night. The sensations are relieved by movement of the limb. RLS leads to problems staying or falling asleep, causing fatigue.”
When mine was at its worst, I thought I’d cured my need for sleep. No matter how tired I was, my legs kept wanting to move; I wouldn’t be able to fall asleep until about six in the morning, after wearing myself out with all the jumping jacks and push-ups I could do.
It also strikes when you’re sitting in one place, incredibly bored. One of my worst outbreaks was while watching the mercilessly dull French film “L’Homme du Train,” about a thief and a professor who switch lives after meeting on a train. I couldn’t stop shifting. I probably crossed and uncrossed my legs 2 million times. If I’d only known my mom hated that movie and wanted to walk out too.
I assumed this was just a weird quirk of mine until someone gave me an article about Restless Legs Syndrome. It was an actual thing! I researched it for hours, trying to find a cure, and by combining a few different sources, came up with this cure:
Calcium supplements
B-12 supplements
and
SAM-E, an amino acid derivitive.
I bought all those things that day, and never had restless legs ever again. I don’t take calcium anymore, just B-12 and SAM-E.
