God can’t make ‘em all
If you have a kid who is handicapped physically or mentally, the need to tell them that they’re special goes without saying. Understandably, most kids who are suffering the hassles of imperfect bodies are going to want more. “Everyone makes fun of me. Why am I so special, mommy?” So what you tell them is this:
God is a very busy man. He created Adam and Eve and the whole entire world. He decided what was good and what was evil, and what the consequences of every action (whether moral, immoral, or neutral) would be.
But now there’s billions of people on this planet, and God can’t attend to every single one. He’s got the broader scheme of the fate of the universe the worry about. While God orchestrates every political assassination, every hurricane, and every touchdown, he can’t worry about the creation of every single baby anymore. Sometimes God gets tired and delegates that task to his angels, like Michael the Archangel.
And that’s who we think made you. Because Michael is a very smart, generous angel. One of God’s most favored disciples. When he makes a child, he puts a lot of thought and care into it, more than even God is able to do. The creation of you was so much more personalized, thoughtful, and special than the creation of all those mean kids at your school.
The thing is, though he’s made some children before he made you, Michael the Archangel hasn’t been creating people since the beginning of time. Michael the Archangel loves you. But sometimes he messes up.
