Nail Clipper Killer
A stop-motion animated short about a terrorist who takes down a plane with just a pair of nail scissors, the kind they take away from you if they catch it in your carry-on. The style is inspired by this silent German stop motion animation short my brother showed me. So there’s no dialogue.
It opens with the terrorist going through security. He’s blond haired, green-eyed, and has a gentle smile. Everything appears to be normal with his carry-on luggage, except that he’s got a pair of nail clippers. The security guy takes it out and is about to compensate it, but our blond-eyed hero pleads with him. He shows the security guy a disgusting hangnail, and the security guy gives in. Okay, just one last clip.
But he doesn’t clip his hangnail at all. Instead, our hero takes his nail clippers and shoves them right into the security guy’s eye. He pulls his eye out completely, basically distracting the guy so he can escape. This gets the other security guys all uppity, so he grabs his luggage and runs to his gate as they chase after him. Luckily he’s blond and inconspicuous, so he’s able to blend in pretty well.
He gets to his gate as they’re boarding the first class passengers. Annoyed that he has to wait, he goes into the first class line. When they see that his ticket isn’t first class, he stabs the ticket taking woman in the heart and then slashes the throat of the other ticket taker, both with his nail clippers. He runs down the little hallway to his plane.
He gets on without a hitch.
But he doesn’t sit in first class. He goes to the aisle in coach where his ticket tells him to go, which is near the wing. When he gets there, he sees that someone has taken the window seat, which he should rightfully have. He motions to that person to talk him into switching (silent, remember), but the window thief is either asleep or refuses. Our hero flashes his disgusting hang nail at the guy, which sends him running. He takes his window seat.
This happens and that happens, until at one point, while the plane is flying, the terrorist cuts through the plane’s window and climbs out onto the wing. He cuts the plane’s wing off with his nail clippers, and gets back inside as the plane starts flipping around all over the place.
The pilot is a real hot shot hero, though, and the plane refuses to crash. The terrorist slaughters more people with his nail clippers on the way to the pilot, but it turns out the pilot is prepared - he has a pair of nail clippers of his own.
They battle it out, nail clipper against nail clipper, until finally the pilot has the terrorist down on his knees, pleading for mercy. Will the pilot give another chance to the man who killed his co-pilot? Nope, the pilot finishes him off, decapitating him with his nail clippers. He lands the plane, and the few remaining passengers, to safety.
The true hero, of course, was the pilot’s pair of nail clippers. So the final shot is a new security man handing out nail clippers to everybody.
