Confused time travelers

An Encino Man type movie where someone from the past stumbles into our modern times and gets confused. This person is from more traditional times, when wearing black always signified that you were mourning the loss of someone. The time traveler ends up in New York City in the late ’90s, sees all the people dressed in black out on the streets, and stops everyone she can to passionately wish them her sincerest apologizes for their loss.

Not to editorialize, but if I were a time traveler, man, I’d be ready for anything. “Don’t make any assumptions,” I’d tell myself. “Things are going to be different and you won’t understand them. See that food? Don’t eat it. For all you know, that could be robot food.”

So there’s another idea for a time travel plot. A time traveler who is too paranoid, overestimating how different things are going to be, thinking everyone is a robot, certain that all the countries are run by completely totalitarian governments, and trusting absolutely none of their past knowledge even when it should obviously apply.
