Skeptics Versus Geniuses

A bunch of short films about famous artists having minor ideas, or mentioning some minor aspect of a larger idea, and skeptics calling them crazy for it, then being proved wrong.

In one:

A skeptic is looking over the shoulder of Lou Reed as he writes a song lyric.

Skeptic: “What lyric are you writing?”

Lou Reed: “I could sleep for 1,000 years.”

Sketpic: “You’re crazy! No way will anyone ever go for a song lyric like that!”

Then it cuts to Lou Reed singing that lyric and the crowd cheering.

Another one:

Marcel Duchamp is almost finished painting “Nude Descending a Staircase.” A skeptic is, of course, looking over his shoulder.

Skeptic: “What is your painting called?”

Marcel Duchamp: “Nude Descending a Staircase.”

Skeptic: “Are you nuts?! Nobody will ever buy a painting called ‘Nude Descending a Staircase!’”

Then it cuts to an auctioneer at an art auction exclaiming, “‘Nude Descending a Staircase’! Sold!”

Stuff like that.
