War of the Embassies
Somtimes I’ll hear some screaming outside, and it’s people protesting the Chinese Embassy in Manhattan. I can’t hear what they’re saying, but I’m sure it’s about Tibet. It’s the kind of protest that wouldn’t go over very well in China itself, so I thought it would be funny if the people at the Chinese Embassy thought they had as much power in New York as they have in China, so they brought in a bunch of tanks and rifles to First Avenue and rolled over and blasted away at all these New York protesters, Tiananmen Square-style.
Amusing, yes, but probably not good for China’s image in the world.
For that matter, it would be funny if all embassies were run by people who chose to live the rules of the country they represent, rather than the rules of the country they’re in, and sought to impose those rules on the locals. There could also be a funny movie made about two rival embassies warring against each other in a neutral country.
