Party to Live, Don’t Live to Party
Today I saw someone wearing a shirt that said, “I Live to Party”. Combine that with Ben Franklin’s advice that you should “eat to live, not live to eat”, and you get a more prudent T-shirt: “Party to Live, Don’t Live to Party.”
To be even more exemplary, you could take this advice to its esoteric extreme: “Live to Live, Don’t Live to Live”.
If food is not something that we’re here to enjoy, and is rather only here so we can exist and enjoy other things, you can apply that anti-enjoyment thinking to anything that isn’t totally necessary (sleeping in, movies, music, Scrabulous). “Live to Live, Don’t Live to Live” may seem incoherent at first glance, but really it means that you should do only the bare minimum to survive and nothing else.
Since clothes are necessary for survival, at least in winter, it’s okay to put that on a T-shirt.
